Sunday 31st

A culmination of thoughts I've been having in January finally came to a head with this blog post. I've been thinking about how unpolitical the British people seem in the face of Covid. Could it be that things will, one day, just go back to normal, or is there another path? Click below to find out.

Revolutionary thoughts in 2021

Saturday 30th

Today I added my latest article for Freedom to the journal. It came about after I heard that the government were warning people about the new variant of Covid 19, saying that it was perhaps 30% more deadly than the original. I immediately thought it reminded me of Thatcherism and perhaps there was a way to use the phrase to discuss the shit show government response in the UK to the pandemic. I used the idea to craft the headline, which I'd already trialled as a one-liner on facebook to see how it went down. Press the button below for the journal entry.

January

Saturday 16th

I wrote a piece for the latest edition of Class War. You can read it in my blog post linked below. I have increasingly found myself despairing at way the government has handled the pandemic. It just seems to go from bad to worse. It has made me reflect on anarchism and whether we really could do better without government. This isn't directly referenced in the article but I keep coming back to the fact that right now there are governments handling things much better than the UK. For some this will be a clear example of why the state itself is necessary. As anarchists we can't ignore these issues, and so in future articles I intend to return to the idea. Chiefly, I want o set out how the pandemic has reinforced my belief that anarchism is the answer.
